Referee Profile - Howard Webb

The next stop in the profile of the Select group officials is last years League Cup final referee Howard Webb. Howard became a football league official at the age of 29 in 2000 and joined the select group 3 years later. His quick progression saw him nominated to FIFA in 2005 and saw him referee the Community Shield between Chelsea and Arsenal that same year.
Further final appointments came his way when in 2006 he officiated the FA Trophy final between Grays & Woking.
Howard received praise for his handing of the mass brawl in this years League cup final between the two sides. His experience from being a police offer in Yorkshire must have helped him in this situation. Despite being a Fifa Official and officiating at this years Fifa U20 World Cup he still works for his local force as a community officer.
Last season he refereed 43 domestic games, issuing 151 cautions & 9 red cards.

Poppycock, Howard Webb is the best referee in England at the moment, and I use Webby as a role model.

Well said refereeing is hard enough as it is, i am a low league qualified ref, he is exceptional, fans and supports dont like it when decisions dont go there way !!!!!
